Friends of Oak Cliff Parks organization was Honored at the Oak Cliff In honor of the 75th Anniversary of the founding of the Oak Cliff Lions Club, the Club Dedicated a Bronze Statue of a Lion at historic Founders Park. A time capsule was set which is scheduled to be opened in 25 years on the 100th anniversary of the Club. The capsule contained memory cards and artifacts from all of those present. The Friends contributed a FOCP T Shirt signed by all of the volunteers who worked to clean the Park that day. In honor of their efforts at improving the Park, "Friends of Oak Cliff Parks" received a check for $1,500 from the Oak Cliff Lions Club at the Dedication. The Friends plan to purchase a memorial bench to place near the lion. |
