Founders Park and Plaza.
Sixteen acres of land was acquired by the City of Dallas in 1938 with funds bequeathed by the Dr. Samuel Estate. Rustic and rolling park land surrounds the beautiful Cliff Towers of 1926 and adjoins Lake Cliff Park to the south across West Colorado Blvd. Founders Plaza was added in 1974 with a memorial plaque listing the "Founders of Oak Cliff". The Plaza offers breathtaking views of the City of Dallas skyline.
Mr. Ralph Pinkus' donation of 50 25-year-old Crepe Myrtles in 2003 to the City of Dallas resulted in the planting of 32 of the trees in Founders Park by the Friends of Oak Cliff Parks. The original planting plan of the Plaza that was lost in the 1980's was replanted with these trees
Lake Cliff Park

Acquired by the City of Dallas in 1914, the Park encompasses 44 acres and a large lake overlooking the skyline of downtown Dallas.

Friends of Oak Cliff Parks intents to restore the natural beauty and "quality" of life portrayed in the picture of the park.

Kidd Springs Park

Formerly a private recreational facility in 1900, the park was created when it was acquired by the City of Dallas in 1947. The park contains 31 acres and a small spring fed lake. A spectacular oriental garden donated by Dr. & Mrs. Jack Edwards was added to the park in 1969.

Oriental Garden

The oriental garden was in a severe state of deterioration following the budget cuts of the 1980's. This important garden will undergo restoration this year with the funds provided to the Park Department in the recent City of Dallas Bond Election.
